Overview
C5I Integration & Test Engineers utilize their operational, maintenance, and subject matter expertise to support the design, development, and testing of Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) for new-construction U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and advanced engineering practices, these roles provide critical expertise across the VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA submarine programs.
Opportunities within C5I Test and Engineering span the entire system lifecycle-from initial concept and design through development, hardware/software integration, system testing, and final delivery aboard the submarine. Beyond new construction, engineers also contribute to sustaining the operational fleet through the analysis and resolution of in-service issues, evaluation of obsolescence concerns, and execution of NPES modernization initiatives to maintain the Navy's technological edge.
Qualifications Required: \n - High School Diploma or equivalent
\n - A minimum of 5 years of hands on experience relevant to maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting and repair of Virginia Class Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES)
\n - Current active DoD Secret clearance
\n

Preferred: \n - US Navy Instructor Certification
\n - Fiber optics experience
\n
Skills \n - Task management skills to coordinate, direct, and participate in diverse test evolutions and troubleshooting efforts
\n - Knowledge, skill, and ability to read and interpret system drawings, diagrams, in relation to Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES)
\n - Candidates must be able to interact on various levels with personnel from Electric Boat (Subordinates, peers, Supervisors and Managers) as well as the Customer
\n - Familiarity with submarine construction and test philosophies
\n - Installation and configuration, network administration of networking systems, routers, and switches
\n - Demonstrated ability to prioritize and concurrently complete multiple assignments as required in addition to de-confliction skills
\n - Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with management and technical personnel on various levels
\n - Strong problem solving skills
