The YMCA is looking for an energetic Sports Program Assistant to help run our youth and adult sports programs! You’ll help make sure practices and games run smoothly, support coaches, keep things organized, and make every player feel like a champion. What You’ll Do Assist in coaching youth sports clinics, camps, and leagues, when needed, across a variety of sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, T‑ball). Help set up and take down equipment for practices and games. Keep things running on time — from schedules to scorekeeping. Cheer on players and help create a fun, positive environment. Talk with parents, coaches, and participants (communication is key!). Make sure everyone is playing safe and having fun. Pitch in wherever needed — teamwork makes the dream work! Qualifications Minimum Age: 16; for adult leagues 18. Previous experience playing or coaching youth sports preferred. Strong communication skills with youth and adults are essential. Ability to relate and work effectively with children and diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training before working with children. Availability for evenings and/or weekends.
