Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Full-Time On-Site Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the school year, supporting an 11th-grade student in Austin, MN. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide dedicated one-on-one interpreting services within an educational setting, ensuring effective communication and access to the curriculum for the student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time, on-site sign language interpreting in all academic classes for a high school junior
  • Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting the students educational needs
  • Collaborate with educational staff to promote an inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Educational Interpreting
  • Valid certification such as EIPA, RID, or NID is required
  • Proven experience as a sign language interpreter, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and commitment to student success
