Job Title: Safety and Compliance Officer

Job Summary: The Safety and Compliance Officer are responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace safety, environmental standards, and company policies by conducting inspections, implementing safety programs, training staff, and maintaining documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, including hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to workplace safety, environmental standards, and occupational health.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide training to employees on safety procedures, proper equipment usage, and emergency response actions.
• Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance audit.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance safety performance and compliance within the organization.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety regulations including OSHA standards and HIOSH.
• Ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Background in creating and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
• Proficiency in conducting safety training sessions for staff and management.
• Competence in maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance audits.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with all organizational levels.
• Safety and compliance certifications are not required but are highly recommended.
