The church pianist works under the direction of the Music Director to provide musical support for masses and choir rehearsals.
Key Responsibilities
- Play piano for Sunday masses.
- Accompany the cantor or choir during rehearsals and performances.
- Provide music for special services (Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals, etc.).
- Collaborate with the pastor, music director, and singers to maintain a spiritual and engaging atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Strong piano proficiency and ability to sight-read music.
- Experience accompanying choirs and congregational singing.
- Knowledge of the Catholic Mass and its liturgical structure.
- Knowledge of various musical styles, including traditional hymns and contemporary worship music.
- Ability to improvise and adapt music to fit the service.
