Job Description

Medicare Sales Trainer 

Location: Columbia, SC 29223 (Fully Onsite) 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm 

 

Our client is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Medicare Trainer supporting their expanding Medicare business in South Carolina. This role is pivotal in training and empowering agents, leading educational seminars, and driving Medicare sales growth through strategic support and marketing collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Agent Training & Development
    • Conduct comprehensive Medicare training sessions for new and existing agents.
    • Walk agents through licensing requirements, including AHIP certification.
    • Provide ongoing education on CMS rules, regulations, and compliance updates.
  • Seminar Leadership
    • Host and present Medicare seminars, including sessions for individuals aging into Medicare.
    • Confidently present to small groups and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Sales Support During AEP
    • Offer hands-on support to agents during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).
    • Serve as a resource for product knowledge, enrollment processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Marketing Collaboration
    • Partner with marketing representatives to encourage agent engagement and production.
    • Assist agents in planning and executing Medicare marketing events.
    • Share best practices and proven strategies for successful event promotion and turnout.
  • Agent Relationship Management
    • Build strong relationships with agents, understanding their challenges and providing solutions.
    • Make it easy for agents to write business by streamlining processes and offering responsive support.
  • Market Expansion
    • Strategically grow the company's Medicare block in South Carolina, identifying new opportunities and underserved areas.
    • Focus on aging-in populations to maximize impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active health insurance license and AHIP certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Deep familiarity with CMS guidelines and a proactive approach to staying current.
  • Proven experience supporting Medicare sales teams and working directly with agents.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking to small groups.
  • Experience marketing to aging-in demographics.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support agents through both training and sales cycles.
