JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are a MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you to support the Professional Tools business! Based in our ELYRIA, OH location, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes and methods to machine, fabricate, and assemble components and finished products. In addition, you will develop and implement solutions to manufacturing-related problems and analyze and improve current processes to reduce manufacturing costs and improve quality and value to customers.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • Use CAD/CAM systems to develop fixtures, tooling, and CNC machining programs.
  • \n
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to achieve cost reduction and improve competitive advantages.
  • \n
  • Research new manufacturing methods and recommend capital improvement projects.
  • \n
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • \n
  • Participate in design reviews with PDAC teams and design staff to ensure efficient and capable production methods.
  • \n
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • \n
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • \n
  • Confer with management, design engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • \n
  • Implement Engineering Changes or New Product introductions into the manufacturing system on a timely basis.
  • \n
  • Apply statistical methods to determine manufacturing process capability.
  • \n
  • Develop work instructions and tooling data sheets for production employees.
  • \n
  • Assist production departments in solving manufacturing problems.
  • \n

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering, with 3 years of related experience is strongly preferred (intern/co-op experience will be considered). An Associate's degree, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • \n
  • Experience in a CNC Machining environment and familiarity with G&M code are required.
  • \n
  • Experience with Mastercam is strongly preferred.
  • \n
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products..
  • \n
