About the Role

The Company is in search of a Managing Director for Institutional, Global, and Corporate Philanthropy. The successful candidate will lead a team of 12 fundraisers, with a focus on raising over $50M annually from corporations and large institutional foundations. This role is pivotal in contributing to the organization's overall revenue goals, which exceed $250M annually. The Managing Director will be responsible for fostering a culture of success within the team, working closely with various directors and strategists, and serving as a thought leader to enhance the company's fundraising potential. Key responsibilities include ensuring the team meets or exceeds its fundraising goals, developing strategic annual plans, and engaging with the company's leadership to solicit grants. The role also involves growing the prospect pipeline, particularly for overseas funding, and providing strategic leadership to the philanthropy team. Applicants for the Managing Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and a minimum of 15 years' experience in professional philanthropy, with at least 6-8 years in a leadership role. A proven track record of securing significant grants and direct experience with Salesforce is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, the ability to build relationships, and a commitment to the company's mission and values. Senior management experience and a background in environmental NGOs or overseas fundraising are advantageous. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, who is also adept at managing conflict and is willing to travel up to 20% of the time. The company is an equal-opportunity employer and is particularly interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds.
