Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care
- Obtain and record vital signs, pain assessments, and patient histories.
- Prepare patients for spine and neurosurgical procedures and exams.
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative instructions.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report promptly.
- Clinical Support
- Set up and maintain sterile fields for minor procedures.
- Assist providers during injections, imaging-guided procedures, and neurological assessments.
- Handle specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR).
- Document medication administration and patient education.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic protocols.
- Communication & Education
- Educate patients and families on post-op care, medication, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate with providers, schedulers, and other team members for seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- Current LPN license in South Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced specialty clinic.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics, or pain management.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar EHR systems.
- Knowledge of spine procedures and post-operative care.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours.
