Job Description
If you are an individual that is self-motivated, driven, and with a passion to help taxpayers receive the help they need, we are looking for you! In this Tax Preparation role, you will act as the client’s primary contact for their tax preparation.
Duties will include:
Prepare federal and state tax returns
Prepare personal and business tax returns for all entity types, utilizing the information provided by clients and imputing into the tax preparation software. ( Knowledge of the Tax Slayer Program a plus)
Researching client tax questions and reviewing previous tax returns
Resolve IRS notices effectively working with the client and the IRS as necessary
Qualifications
Proficiency in tax software, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and basic computer software
Good verbal and written communication skills with proper grammar and spelling
Working knowledge of federal income tax laws
Prior experience in preparing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 990
Audit Experience a plus (IRS and State tax authorities)
Self-sufficient, well organized, exceptional work ethic to meet deadlines.
Critical thinking, problem solving, and determination.
Active PTIN and appropriate state licensing where required.
CPA certification and/or enrolled agent a plus ( $25.00 per hour if CPA)
4-5 years’ experience in personal and business tax preparation
Hours of work: 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Wednesday during non tax season. Hours will increase during the tax season. Salary will be based on experience with room for advancement in salary and responsibilities.
