Position Summary:

Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. With its innovative IT technology, SDS developed the integrated logistics solution called “Cello” in 2010, started its logistics business in 2012 and expanded its logistics business with Business Process Outsourcing.

This position will be working closely with various departments including Accounting, Finance, Operations, and others to solve complex problems that directly impacts Samsung SDSA financial reporting. The successful candidate will drive business insight through data analysis and leading to implementation of actions to improve processes, detailed reviews of operating expenses, and headcount forecasting. This position will be part of tackling cost improvement initiatives and create standard reporting to help leaders make spending and headcount decisions across the organization. The position will be part of cross-functional projects and will require an individual who is motivated to make an impact.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Assist in the preparation of month-end financial and CO closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Conduct thorough examination and analysis of financial statements to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement through variance analysis.
2. Logistics cost specialist:
• Perform financial variance analysis on logistics costs.
• Communicate with branch managers and other stakeholders regularly on root cause of changes and gain business insights of ongoing issues.
• Prepare warehouse and special project P&L report to analyze detailed cost factors for leadership.
• Assist in reviewing profitability for new business / contract.
3. Business Insight and Reporting:
• Deliver insightful financial reports to management, providing valuable business insights to optimize revenue and control cost.
• Regularly monitor and report financial key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
4. Budget Control and Planning:
• Support in budget control, investment planning, and cost center budget performance, providing recommendations for optimization.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual business planning and budgeting processes.
5. Business Planning Support:
• Provide support for regular business planning cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with strategic goals.
6. Ad-Hoc Reporting and Communication:
• Generate ad-hoc reports on financial metrics as required, providing timely insights to support decision-making.
• Facilitate communication between Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in the US and Headquarters (HQ) in Korea, ensuring effective information exchange and coordination.

Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, supply chain or related field required

• Proven experience and knowledge in logistics field and cost elements involved.
• Working experience in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP CO Module) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred

• 2+ years of experience preferred in Logistics 3PL industry.

• Understanding of Logistics Business Operations
• Knowledge of and work experience with SAP CO Module
