Title: Cloud Security Operations Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Description

Our client is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join the Cloud Security Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security. This role centers on securing the companys SaaS application ecosystem using CrowdStrike Falcon Shield SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM). The ideal candidate is experimentation-driven, results-oriented, and skilled at collaborating across business and technical teams to drive remediation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of new SaaS applications with CrowdStrike Falcon Shield, ensuring comprehensive coverage and effective onboarding.
• Perform rule tuning and configuration within Falcon Shield to maximize alert fidelity and minimize false positives.
• Continuously monitor SaaS application security posture, identifying misconfigurations, vulnerable options, and other risks as reported by Falcon Shield.
• Partner with business teams to remediate findings, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
• Track and report remediation progress to both technical and leadership audiences, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, policies, and procedures for SaaS security operations.
• Create and manage key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of SaaS security and remediation efforts.
• Assist with triaging potential security incidents related to SaaS applications.
• Promote security and privacy by design through effective collaboration with stakeholders.

Additional Information:

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in security operations or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) solutions (CrowdStrike Falcon Shield preferred, but experience with other SSPM platforms is valued).
• Demonstrated experience leading remediation efforts and tracking/reporting progress to technical and leadership stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of SaaS application security concepts and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex problems and solutions to diverse audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills for building consensus and understanding across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to develop and implement leading security practices across technology and business teams.
• Proven ability to drive completion of projects and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS/MA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline; or 3+ years of additional experience.
• Experience automating or scripting repetitive tasks.
• Background in big four consulting or Fortune 500 companies.
• Telecom/Cable industry experience.
• Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA).
• Experience with SaaS application integrations and security controls
