Cash Application Specialist LHH is looking for a Cash Application Specialist for a client in the Mason, Ohio area. This position is responsible for accurately applying incoming payments to customer accounts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely and efficient cash flow. This role supports the overall financial health of the organization by maintaining clean and up-to-date receivable records. This position is a 6 month contract role that has potential to turn permanent after the 6-months if they have approval. This position will pay between $19 and $23/hr. Responsibilities:

  • Apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts using ERP systems
  • Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve unapplied cash issues
  • Communicate with internal departments and external customers to clarify payment details
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of all cash application activities
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting processes
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of experience in cash application or accounts receivable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with lockbox, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
